Not every property is set up for a prebuilt shed delivery. Tight gates, narrow lots, steep grades or limited access roads can make it impossible to bring in a fully assembled structure. That is where Weaver Barns’ on-site construction service comes in.

When your site is difficult to reach or your structure is too large to ship assembled, our skilled Amish and Mennonite craftsmen bring the materials directly to your location and build your shed, barn, garage or backyard structure where you need it. You receive the same commitment to materials, construction and finish, with final assembly completed directly on your property.

Why on-site construction may be needed

Gates or fences that are too narrow for a fully built structure to pass through

A backyard or building site that is not accessible by truck

Slopes, terrain or obstacles that make standard delivery impractical

Larger structures, including certain garages and barns, that cannot be transported to the property fully assembled.

How the process works

Weaver Barns prepares many of the building’s components at our Sugarcreek facility. The crew transports those components to your property and completes assembly on the prepared site.

This approach combines careful preparation at our facility with final assembly at your property. Review our Construction Details for more information about materials and building methods.

What to expect on build day

Our crew arrives with the prepared components and necessary materials.

Assembly takes place directly on your prepared foundation.

The crew completes final assembly, fit and finish at the building site.

We recommend that you or an authorized representative be available to confirm placement and answer any final site questions.

Site and foundation requirements

A well-prepared site makes a significant difference in how smoothly an on-site build proceeds. Before the crew arrives, a level, properly sized foundation should be in place. This helps the structure sit correctly, allows doors to operate as intended and minimizes settling over time.

Review our Site Preparation Guide for approved foundation options and delivery-access guidance.

When on-site construction makes sense

On-site construction is designed for projects where property access, terrain, placement or building size makes prebuilt delivery impractical. Our team will review the requested structure and site details to determine whether on-site assembly is appropriate.

On-site construction carries an additional charge compared with standard prebuilt delivery. The exact cost depends on the size and complexity of the building. Our team will review pricing when you request a quote.

Eligible structure types

Sheds and barns (Gable, Manchester, Sugarcreek, Craftsman, Estate, Highland, Cottage, and more)

Garages (Gable Garage, Workshop, Classic, Heritage, Dutch Barn, Willow Creek, and more)

Cabins (Frontier, Aspen, Woodland)

Backyard structures (Bradford, Timber Ridge, Lakewood, Laredo, and more)

Custom homes and larger structures by request

Construction timing

Most average-sized buildings can be assembled in a half to full day when the site is ready to go. Larger structures, such as full garages or barns, may take several days. Our team will give you a timeframe estimate when scheduling your build.

Carry allowances and additional charges

Carry charges may apply when the crew must transport components and materials from the parking area to the building site. The included allowance depends on the structure’s width:

• Buildings 8–12 feet wide include 50 feet of carry distance.

• Buildings 14–16 feet wide include 25 feet of carry distance.

Any carry distance beyond the included allowance is charged at $2 per foot and is paid directly to the crew at the time of service.

On-site construction is available for most of our product lines. Contact us with the specific structure you are interested in, and we will confirm whether on-site construction is an option.

What is the difference between on-site construction and prebuilt delivery?

With prebuilt delivery, your structure is fully assembled at our facility and transported to your property. With on-site construction, Weaver Barns prepares many of the building’s components at our Sugarcreek facility. The crew transports those components to your property and completes assembly on the prepared site. Both options provide the same commitment to materials, construction and finish. The delivery method is selected based on the structure and what the property allows. See our Delivery Guide for more information.
